Node 2

Overview

The Node 2 is the successor to the Node 1 modem.

This new modem provides better performance through higher upload and download speeds, has a single antenna terminal, and most importantly, it is a global modem that will work anywhere in the world!

Node 2 delivers 4x faster download speeds (Max. 600 Mbps) and 3x faster upload speeds (Max. 150 Mbps) than its predecessor. It also features 3 mounting options and dual SIM slots (only one SIM card may be active at a time).

With external high-gain antennas and the industrial-grade Cat. 12 LTE modem, Node 2 gives you a robust internet connection in the most challenging broadband environments.
Node 2 works with virtually any SIM card, and can operate on most LTE/4G/3G data bands in the world.

It is exclusively responsible for providing an internet connection to the system. It receives data and power through the single 5-pin LEMO to USB cable, and transmits the encoded video through the antenna over cellular networks.

Node 2 Back View

The Node 2 contains a LEMO socket for the 5-pin LEMO to USB cable.
The USB cable connects to the encoder to provide power and data.

The Node 2 contains a single antenna terminal. We recommend using an external antenna with only one lead.

Node 2 SIM Card Slot

The left side of the Node is where you'll find the SIM Card slot.
The Node 2 uses full size SIM cards, or a mini/nano SIM cards with adapters.

To install a SIM card, simply unscrew the two phillips-head screw and remove the small protection panel.

The Node 2 contains dual SIM slots, allowing you to swap from one provider to another without needing to unplug the modem. Only one SIM card can be used at a time.

Exercise extreme caution when removing the screws and panel while the system is mounted inside a vehicle. Neither elements are magnetic, thus very easy to drop and lose within the vehicle.

We strongly recommend removing the Node from the vehicle before opening the SIM card slot.

The Node 2 has two status lights, one for power and one for SIM card recognition.

The status light indicates only that the modem recognizes a SIM card being inserted, it does not guarantee an active data plan or adequate connection strength!
