DTM to USB-C charging
Overview of Charging Issues
Charging issues with the GPX Mobile device are often caused by improper wiring or low voltage from external sources, and voltage fluctuations during engine start.
Common Issues and Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting DTM-USB Adapters
Disconnect the DTM connector and USB connector, leaving the adapter unplugged on both sides for ~10-30 seconds.
Ensure the 12v power from the vehicle is connected to a reliable power source - avoid power being provided via CAN or other sources that may be managed by the vehicle ECU. We recommend wiring the power source as close as possible to the master switch in the circuit.
Reconnect the DTM connector to your power source
Confirm the vehicle’s 12V system is providing stable voltage.
Connect the USB connector to your GPX Mobile device, and verify charging has resumed.
Please note: a revised DTM to USB-C adapter is in development with an aim to resolve this issue on the limited cars in which the low-voltage during engine cranking issue has been observed. More details will be posted once availble.
